Smart energy systems

Smart energy systems use digital technologies and advanced data analytics to manage energy supply and demand more efficiently. By using sensors, smart meters and artificial intelligence, these systems can collect real-time data and optimize energy use. This results in less energy waste, lower costs and a more sustainable energy system. In addition, smart energy systems make it possible to better integrate renewable energy sources such as solar and wind into the grid, even when production fluctuates.

MNEXT’s research into smart energy systems

At MNEXT, we focus on developing technologies that enable the transition to smart, decentralized energy systems. Our projects investigate the role of energy hubs and holons, where local energy networks flexibly exchange energy between households, companies and renewable sources such as solar panels and wind turbines. In addition, we look at the use of battery storage systems and how they can best be integrated into smart grids to absorb peaks in energy demand. In this way, we help accelerate the transition to a carbon-neutral society.

Collaborate with external organizations

Smart energy systems require collaboration between different parties, from energy suppliers to technology developers and local governments. At MNEXT, we offer companies the opportunity to benefit from our knowledge and innovations by participating in our research projects. Organizations can contribute to the development of smart grids, battery storage solutions or the integration of renewable energy. This not only helps to make their own activities more sustainable, but also contributes to a more stable and sustainable energy system for society as a whole.
